青森県三戸郡南部町において、志喜屋カロリーナが日本語教室運営参加及びフィールドワークを行い、最後に南部町における日本語教育のニーズ調査を行った結果、「全員で参加できるイベントや小旅行の希望」が外国人学習者から多数あがった。これは先行研究・実践でも指摘されているが、体験・交流型の日本語教育を行うことの必要性を示唆している。(志喜屋2022)そこで、まずは日本語を学ぶ外国人の方に地域の特性を認知してもらうための動画作成を検討した。弘前学院大学の授業内でやさしい日本語の運用方法について講義を行った後、地元の学生に弘前特有の名所や行事等をやさしい日本語で紹介してもらった。動画内のナレーションで使用する原稿は、「やさ日チェッカー」や「リーディングチュウ太」を使用し、日本語の調整を行ったものの、どのようにやさしい日本語に変換すれば良いか分からない学生もいたため、最後は教員が動画で使用する語彙をチェックした。編集に必要な機材やソフトを準備し、動画を作成した。その動画は以下のURLに限定公開している。https://youtu.be/-TlUX4WdT1Y地方の実習生の場合、日本語が上達すると地方を離れ首都圏へ移動するという問題が指摘されているが、上記の調査でもその問題が確認された。また、9月に小山宣子が技能実習生対象の入国後講習を一部行うとともに、担当教師に対してインタビューを行い、学生ニーズや日本語能力の概況を把握した。秋田県北部の市の食品加工会社で働く予定のベトナム人学習者であった。ドバイで働いた経験のあるものが1名おり、英語で意思疎通が可能であった。今後は、外国人に向け、上記動画を見ることで理解できる「情報」の概要や「語彙・文法」は何かということに焦点を置き、調査を進めると同時に、同県内の他地域・対象でも外国人労働者を対象にニーズを調査し、地域の特性に合った外国人労働者対象の動画教材を開発していきたい。
