项目摘要

「内的発話」(Inner Speech)とは、自分自身への問いかけや指示出し、思考の整理や調整などに用い、音声を伴わない発話だと言われている。第二言語習得時に、コミュニケーション機能としての「音声言語生成・外言」(Overt Speech)ができるようになるには、一定の内的発話を練習する期間が必要であり、効果的な内的発話が行えるようになってはじめて第二言語習得が進むとも言われている。本研究では、第二言語習得者の内的発話使用状況と過程を解明する。また、「内的発話」の介在の有無が言語習得過程でどのような効果が得られるかを検討する。学習者にとって習熟度別に効果的な内的発話を理解・修得することで言語習得を促し、また初期の英語習得等の学習者への第二言語学習法や指導法の開発も試みる。「声にならない声」である内的発話が実際にどのように施行されているかを検証する方法として、①質問紙調査、②インタビュー調査を実施する。被験者は習熟度別英語学習者、他言語学習者、バイリンガル話者、初期第二言語学習者（特に英語学習を始めたばかりの小学校6年生、中学1年生）を対象とするさらに、これらの調査を分析したのちに、③内的発話を意識して行なった後に音声言語生成を行うことによる外言音声が発話可能な訓練方法を開発していく。上記の目的達成のため、具体的に以下の事項を実施する。1.まずは内的発話という概念について、調査対象者に理解を促す。そこから内的発話の使用を意識させ、言語活動の習得過程へと応用する。2.習熟度の異なる学習者の内的発話が、いつどのような状況でこれらを使用しているかまた、習熟度の違いによって内的発話の頻度が異なるかを検討する。その際に初級学習者の独り言発話過程も調査の対象とする。3.内的発話の獲得過程が母語話者と第二言語学習者では異なる時、バイリンガル話者がどのような獲得過程を経ているかを検証する。
