项目摘要

本研究の目的の一つ目は当該期・当該域の鉄製品の流通及び普及の解明である。具体的な研究方法としては、弥生時代の加工用鉄製品を復元製作し、それによる骨角器の加工実験の成果から鉄製品による骨角器の加工痕を明確化し、その加工痕の追求から上記の目的を達することである。令和4年度は鍛造鉄製品の復元製作と鑿柄の復元製作を行った。また加工実験は主に打ち込み動作にかかわるものを11月、主に削り動作にかかわるものを2月に実施した。さらに当該期の鉄製品の流通は海上交通利用である蓋然性が高いため、鹿児島県南さつま市中津野遺跡出土準構造船部材の詳細な観察も実施した。二つ目は東北北部の伐採用厚斧の系譜を明らかにすることである。そのために西日本の初期の伐採用厚斧である山口県長門市本郷山崎遺跡出土資料、島根県出雲市原山遺跡出土資料ほかの観察を実施した。また西日本の伐採用厚斧との関連が想定される新潟県長岡市大武遺跡出土資料ほかの観察も実施した。三つ目は当該期の東北北部と北海道との生業にかかわる関係性を把握することである。当初の計画では研究協力者とともに実施する予定であった土器に残された穀物痕のレプリカ法による検討や、煮炊き用土器の内面炭化物の炭素・窒素同位体比分析は、コロナ禍の影響ほかにより令和4年度も実施できなかった。そこで青森県七戸町猪ノ鼻(1)遺跡出土の煮炊き用土器ほかの当該期・当該域の煮炊き用土器の容量計測を実施した。煮炊き用土器の容量は、その内容物に規定される部分が大きいために、生業との関係が深い。こうした生業の解明にかかわる基礎的データの収集に努めた。
