令和４年度は鹿児島県立埋蔵文化財センター、沖縄県立埋蔵文化財センター、喜界町埋蔵文化財センター、和泊町歴史民俗資料館、西原町教育委員会にて土器の圧痕調査を実施した。調査の結果、喜界島大ウフ遺跡、奄美大島万屋泉川遺跡・長浜金久遺跡、沖縄本島我謝遺跡・熱田貝塚・平敷屋トゥバル遺跡、石垣島新里村西遺跡、沖永良部島城当遺跡、友竿遺跡で出土した土器から植物の痕跡らしき圧痕を確認した。喜界島と沖永良部島における調査資料より圧痕のレプリカを採取したが、他遺跡からの出土資料は、分析の対象とする土器のピックアップと現状写真の撮影に留めて、必要な作業（レプリカ作成と土器の実測）を次年度の調査に委ねることにした。圧痕調査と同時に実施した食器類の調査では、大ウフ遺跡（喜界島）から越州窯系青磁が出土していることを確認するとともに、提り遺跡（喜界島）にて中世の白磁碗と報告された資料が初期貿易陶磁器であることが判明した。研究成果の公表としては、前年度の研究成果に基づいて執筆した論文が雑誌に掲載された他、貝塚時代からグスク時代にかけての文化動向の変遷および食器組成の変遷について述べた論文を発表した。また、沖縄本島北部の農耕開始期を知る上で重要な成果が得られている屋部前田原貝塚について、下記の一般向け講演会にて解説を行なった。新里亮人　「ここまでわかった！名護・沖縄のグスク時代」『「名護市教育の日」関連イベント文化講演会』（期日：2023年１月28日（土）　15：30～17：30、場所：名護市立中央図書館
