项目摘要

新型コロナウィルス感染症の状況もやや落ち着いてきてはいたが、令和4年度においても、現地での調査が困難な状況が続き、実際の訪問を実現することができなかった。しかし、代替の調査方法を探ることによって、対象者との個別聞き取りを進めることができた。またオンラインでも参加可能な関連行事（定例の礼拝、教会の総会など）には加わることができ、現地の教会員の様子を詳しく調査することができた。また今年度は今までの観察や調査資料を基に分析をさらに進め、当初予期していなかった新型コロナ禍の中で、教会の寄付をめぐる動きについて考察することもできた。これらをまとめ、Society for Economic Anthropologyの第42回大会（2022年6月、オンライン開催）にて、リベラル派のメノナイトがどのように分極化するアメリカ社会と関わろうとしているのかの葛藤についてポスター発表した。また2022年11月にはAmerican Anthropological Associationの年次大会（ハイブリッド形式にて開催）にて、パンデミックの中でのメノナイトの宗教的寄付の様子をvirtual talkとして発表した。またリベラルメノナイトの人々が、どのように新型コロナ禍やアメリカのキリスト教ナショナリズムの動きに対応しているのかを考察した論文を、地域学論集19巻3号（p.p.97-108）にて発表した。また次年度となるが、4月に、新型コロナ禍でのリベラル派メノナイトの寄付の対応の違いについて教会員と教会のレベルで分析したものを発表が予定されている。令和５年度は幸い、新型コロナウィルス感染症への対応も整いつつある。引き続きオンライン上での調査機会を最大限に利用しつつ、現地での調査を集中的に行っていく予定である。
