本研究の目的は、グローバル・バリュー・チェーン（Global Value Chain: GVC）への参入・高度化を通じた開発戦略を検証することである。アジアを中心とした新興国の開発経験はGVC参入を通じた開発戦略の有効性の証左となっているが、それら新興国においてもGVCにおける高度化を模索している段階にあり、いまだにGVC参入を目指している低開発国も数多く残されている。これらの政策課題に貢献することを目指して、本研究では、(1)国際産業連関表を用いたGVCへの参入・高度化の計測方法の比較と改善策の検討、(2)同指標に基づくGVCの構造の地域（アジア、北中米、欧州）間比較、(3)ネットワーク分析に基づく物流連結性の計測方法の検討と指標化、などを行い、それらに基づいて、最終的に，(4)開発途上国のGVCへの参入・高度化の決定要因に関する計量分析を行うことを目指している。(1)のGVC参入指標に関しては，近年の研究動向をレビューした結果，Kuroiwa and Umezaki(2020)において利用したKoopman, Wang, and Wei(2014)の手法ではなく，粗輸出の分解に関する問題に対処したBorin and Mancini(2019)の手法を援用することとし，Rスクリプトの改訂および計算作業を完了し，(2)に着手したところである。(3)については，データ調達が完了し，ネットワーク分析の手法で様々な中心性指標を算出し，その比較検討を行った。現時点までに本研究の最終段階である(4)の準備は整っており，計量分析に入る前に，記述統計に基づく分析を進めているところである。

The purpose of this study is to investigate the participation and development of the Global Value Chain (GVC).
