项目摘要

本研究の目的は、先天性視覚障害幼児児童生徒を対象とした歩行指導プログラムを開発し、提案することである。日本には、重複障害を含めた先天性視覚障害幼児児童に対する発達段階に応じた歩行指導プログラムが存在しない。また、視覚特別支援学校では、歩行指導に関する専門性の高い教員が不足していることが課題となっている。本研究は、こうした課題の改善策を検討し、教育の場において一助となるよう行うものである。2022年度は、１）全国盲学校を対象とした歩行指導に関する２つの調査の実施と分析、２）外部専門家（歩行訓練士）と先進的な連携・協働を進める盲学校の事例検討と結果の公表、を行い一定の成果を得た。１）の１つの調査から、日本の盲学校において歩行指導に関する認識や専門性の維持・継承が課題となっていることがわかった。具体的には、新転任の教員であっても児童生徒の歩行指導を担当せざるを得ないが、指導目標や指導方法等を相談する先輩教員や歩行訓練士の養成を受けた教員が存在しないといった課題が多く認められた。課題の改善策として、教職員を歩行訓練士養成研修へ派遣すること、校内体制の見直し、及び外部専門家（歩行訓練士）との連携・協働が挙げられる。各盲学校で改善策を実行するには、管理職が視覚障害児に対する歩行指導の重要性を認識し、教育委員会の理解を図るべく働きかけていくことが求められる。本研究では、歩行指導プログラムの開発と提案を目的とするが、各盲学校における歩行指導に対する認識の向上をも意図したものにしていきたいと考えている。
