We plan to extend the recently described präbiotically relevant FaPy-pathway (Science 2016) to the synthesis of naturally occurring non-canonical purine bases and pyrimidine as well as "pseudo-pyrimidine" bases. In addition, we propose the synthesis and investigation of novel amino acid RNA conjugates. The aim is to obtain a comprehensive picture of präbiotically relevant reaction pathways.
