项目摘要

当該年度は前年の研究から資料体を広げ、同時代の言説空間の中でユルスナールにおけるユマニスムの布置を定めること、またこれまで得られた知見を1970年代以降にフランスに現れた自伝的作品群の問題と接続させて研究をまとめることを目指した。しかし、新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大の影響で研究計画に遅れが生じたため、特別研究員（DC2）の採用期間を半年間延長するに伴い、科研費の繰越を申請した。前年度の研究成果をまとめた二つの論文が発行された。「ウェルギリウスの導きのもとに」（『仏語仏文学研究』第53号）と「『ギリシャの奇跡』は起きたのか？」（『フランス語フランス文学研究』第118号）はともに、ギリシャ・ローマ文化の受容に焦点を当ててユルスナールにおけるユマニスムの持つ現代的意義をあぶり出そうと試みたものである。この議論を土台として発展させた研究の成果を、2021年日本フランス語フランス文学会春季大会において報告した。「不定形」というバタイユに由来する概念に着目しながら古典主義的美学が『ハドリアヌス帝の回想』の基盤をなしていることを確認した後、その美学から逸脱する『黒の過程』以降の作品では四元素のうちに解体する存在のあり方が描かれることを指摘し、ユルスナール晩年の作品に駆動する詩学に光を当てる内容であったが、一定の評価・理解を得られたと考えられる。この発表をもとにした論文「『珞珞たる石の如からん』」は『フランス語フランス文学研究』第120号に掲載された。ユルスナールの自伝的作品『世界の迷路』について扱った論文は『仏語仏文学研究』第56号に掲載される予定で、この2年半の研究の集大成に代わるものとなる。新型コロナウイルス感染症の状況に鑑み、結局フランスでの資料収集が実施できなかった点は残念だが、その反面、国内での研究発表や論文執筆に力を入れることができたといえる。
