项目摘要

本研究は、我々人類が発話する際、どのように音韻的なドメインが構築されピッチが決定されるのかという普遍的なメカニズムの解明を目的としている。特に、構造依存的にピッチの階段状の下降が起きるBoundary-driven downstepという現象の理論的・実験的検証を目的とする。昨年度における主要な成果として、平板型の単語が連続し、かつ意味的に並列であるときに階段状のピッチ下降が起こることについて、実験を通して証明した。また、この現象をboundary-driven downstepと呼び、boundary-driven downstepはアクセントによって引き起こされる従来のダウンステップと一般化できる可能性を理論的に示した。本年度の成果として、平板型の単語が連続した時に、並列以外の要因でboundary-driven downstepが起こる場合についての実験を行い、結果を分析した。さらに、平板型の単語の連続だけではなく、アクセントのある単語との組み合わせによって並列構造を起因とするboundary-driven downstepが起こるかどうか、そしてその場合はdownstepと統一可能なのかについて産出実験を行い、データを統計的に分析した。また、boundary-driven downstepの原因を音韻境界とするとき、その音韻境界の数とboundary-driven downstepの実現の強さについて検証するための実験を行った。これらの結果について、次年度での論文投稿を目標とする。
