今年度は、新型コロナウイルス感染症の拡大によってここ数年難しかった研究活動（特に国内外の資料所蔵機関・研究機関を訪問しての資料収集・分析）が、一部制限がありながらも研究期間の最終段階に可能になったことによって、最終年度の研究成果のとりまとめ作業をある程度進めることができるようになり、2023年2月にロンドンのブリティッシュ・ライブラリー他で資料の調査・収集をおこなった。具体的には、以下のトピックに関する資料について作業をおこなった。１、19世紀前半のイギリスにおいてはトマス・ホッブズへの関心の急速に高まり、「ホッブズ・リバイバル」と呼ばれる状況が生じていた。これに重要な役割を果たしたのが哲学的急進派であった。そこで、哲学的急進派によるホッブズ再評価の特質を分析することを通じて、自己利益優先的人間観の嚆矢としてのホッブズ政治学の19世紀イギリス思想史における意義を明らかにするとともに、自己利益優先的人間観と功利主義の結びつきについて再考している。２、哲学的急進派の議論の中で、経済学に関する用語や言説がどれくらいの頻度で現れているかを人文情報学的手法も用いて分析し、その結果をテクストの内在的分析を組み合わせることによって、経済学へのコミットメントが彼らの知的営為においてどの程度重要であったのかを明らかにする。そして、経済学という新しい知的体系が19世紀初頭のイギリスの言説空間の中でどのような役割を担っていたのかについても分析している。
