前年度に続くコロナパンデミック禍の状況の下、当該年度に実施した研究活動で中心となったのは、コロナ以前の2019年12月、および2020年2-3月の2階に渡るタイ、ラオスでの現地調査、ラオス国立大学ラオス語・ラオス文学研究者との学術交流、関連資料収集やタイのチュラローンコーン大学中央図書館所蔵資料の複写を通じて獲得した資料の読み込みと解析であった。原文の邦訳も進めてはいるが、本研究への現地協力者である在野専門家ドアンドゥアン・ブンニャーウォン氏（父親がタイの国立図書館でターオフン・ターオチュアン物語の貝葉書を発見し、解説と共に、トヨタ財団の官公援助を経て、ラオス語版を出版した）、ラオス国立大学文学部准教授チャマイポーン氏からの直接指導が得られない中、背景となった歴史事象の注記などが必要で、研究の進展は予定より遅延気味である。逐次訳は今秋より、タイの邦字新聞『タイ経済』に掲載されることが決まっており、それまでに全訳を完成させたいと希望している。なお、たい、ラオス両国とも今年から漸次入国規制を緩和しているので、夏または冬に現地調査を行い、遅延気味の研究の進展を図りたい。

In the previous year, research activities were carried out in the current year.
