本研究の1－2年目において平和構築の理論的な議論、既存研究、実践にかかる内容について、一定の知見がえられた。2－4年目に複数回の現地調査を予定していたが、新型肺炎により現地調査がいずれも行えなかった。現地調査にかわって、一部はオンラインによる聞き取り調査により、有用な情報が得られた。特に、平和構築では、現地社会に根付いた治安維持やコミュニティの問題解決方法が有用であることは予想していた通りであることが確認できたが、それらを維持するメカニズム（現地の権力力学を含む）について、聞き取りを通して系統だった知見が得られなかった。また、それがある地域では維持され、他の地域では維持されていない（新たな方法に取って代わった）理由や、権力との関連については十分に考察できなかった。これらはさらなる現地調査によって明らかにしなければならない課題である。この点については、引き続き調査を行い明らかにしていきたい。これまでのところ、本研究を通して得られた知見を単著（英語）および共著（英語）にて発表している。また国内外の学会での報告も行い、有用なコメントが得られた。研究期間全体としては、課題を残しているため、これらについても今後検討し、論文（日英）および学会報告を通して成果を発表していきたい。アジア地域に焦点をあてた平和構築については、近年、英語による著書が出ていることから、関係の研究者とのネットワークづくりも今後の調査や研究成果の発表過程で行っていきたい。
