令和4年度の研究実績は以下の通りである。査読付論文としてKatsuyoshi Nakazawa, Tomohisa Miyashita, Akira Yokoyama(2022)"The Effect of Urban Compaction on Financial Efficiency"がEconomics Bullrtin誌に掲載された。本論文は都市のコンパクト化が行政支出に与える影響を費目別に検討したものである。特にパネルデータを用いた確率的フロンティア費用関数の推定をおこなった点が貢献である。高齢化および人口減少に対しての都市のコンパクト化，という課題に取り組んでいる。査読付ではない論考として，中澤克佳（2022）「介護保険制度と介護保障の再構築」『地方財政』地方財務協会 編 61(6) 4-12を公表した。こちらは高齢化の進展，家族介護機能の縮小と公的介護保険の財政制約のもとで，介護保険制度を含む介護保障をどのように再編成していくべきかを論じている。具体的には，オランダやドイツにおける私的および公的介護保障の範囲について再検討し，「何を，どこまで，誰が」負担すべきであるのかという介護の論点について検討を加えている。以上のように，研究計画において目標としていた英文の査読付論文の公表および主に政策担当者に向けた専門誌における研究の知見の公表という事項に関して，令和4年度は概ね達成できている。
