本年度は引き続き「新型コロナ状況」が継続しているが、「人口減少社会」という問題をめぐる社会学的な研究の蓄積を踏まえながら現代日本社会におけるその問題としての構築プロセスと現在について少子化対策の新たな展開を踏まえての研究を進めた。第1に社会理論的な分析枠組みの再検討作業を引き続き行った。人口減少社会という問題は少子化問題と高齢化問題を接合したかたちで言説的には生み出されてアジェンダされてきている経緯がある。少子化問題と高齢化問題がどのように接合されてきたのか、さらにはそもそも社会の人口構成に関連する様々な社会的要因が複合的に関連して作用した結果として生じているがそのなかで何が焦点化されてきたのか。特に現代日本社会においては従来とは異なる新しい生活上の困難層の諸問題と人口減少との関連についての検討をすすめた。第2に人口減少社会という社会課題のメディアや政策へのアジェンダのされかた、およびそれに対応した対策・政策がどのように打ち出されてきたかなどの問題性について検討を進めた。学問的な研究状況とそのアジェンダのされ方との関係から、問題がメディアや政治的力関係のもとで歪められ、社会や地域の実態や文脈、地域類型の違いなどを十分踏まえたうえでの展開、政策展開がなされていないといった問題明らかにした。地域レベルと全体社会レベルでの人口問題の関係性に注目しつつ、また、地域間関係にも注目しての人口減少問題の設定のし直しという点からの分析をすすめた。第3にそもそも学問的な枠組みとして、人口減少問題についてのとらえ方についての反省的な考察も必要だと思われるので社会科学のなかでの人口学的・経済学的な枠組みとデータに基づくアジェンダの問題性を明らかにすることに傾注している。シュミレーションなどが持つ問題性についても現在展開されつつある少子化対策論議について焦点化して分析進めている。
