本研究では戦後の医学研究における人体実験について、社会的弱者を対象とした事例に注目して歴史的検討を行う。とくに「子ども」、すなわち乳児、幼児、学齢期の児童を対象にした日本国内の医学研究を扱う。令和４年度は、前年度に行なった結核・脳炎の医学研究および予防衛生政策を中心に、さらに文献調査をすすめた。１９世紀末に国内外ではじまった結核治療を目的とした臨床研究の動向から、近代医学の萌芽期にみられた日本における子どもを実験対象とした医学研究の特異性を検討した。さらにそうした事例を、日本の貧民施療における官費入院制度、学校衛生や乳児死亡率に関わる諸政策の歴史的文脈の中に位置づけることを試み、現代日本の社会福祉に通底する構造的問題を分析した。これまでの文献調査により、戦前・戦中・戦後を通して、国立の研究機関、大学病院、公立病院、学校などの公的な組織の連携のなかで展開した、新生児・乳児・幼児・小中学生を対象にした医学研究事例の存在を確認している。日本の近代医学史において実験対象とされた子どもたちが集団として医学者との接点をもちえた契機、また戦後の日本社会で子どもが「社会的弱者」という集団として出現するプロセスの検討をすすめ、これらの医学研究の歴史的系譜が現代の医学・医療にたいして提起する倫理的問題について考察を行なった。今後の計画では、これまでの言説分析および考察で得られた結果をあわせて研究成果として発表していく予定である。

This document survey was conducted before, during, and after the publication of the report, and it confirmed the existence of medical research cases in national research institutions, university hospitals, public hospitals, and schools. The history of modern medicine in Japan is a pedigree of the history of medical research, a pedigree of the history of modern medicine, and an investigation of ethical issues raised in the history of medical research. The future plan is to analyze and investigate the results of the study and to determine the results.
