本研究では、日本語の「主題化」の性質を解明することにより、Rizzi、Belleti、Cinque等、ヨーロッパにおける研究者が提唱する談話上・情報上の階層構造の精緻化を進めてきた。昨年度に引き続き、多言語を通時的かつ共時的に考察する必要がある、という想定の下に研究を継続したが、2022年度からの新たな展開としては、解釈の二重性を担保するための格や意味役割の認可、及びそれに必要とされるA移動に関する諸制約の抽出と定式化を一層推し進めた点である。英語におけるthat痕跡効果や主題化を手がかりに、補文標識句が持つ談話特性とA移動がどのような相関関係を持つのかを調査・分析して論文にまとめた。この論文では、談話特性を具現するための移動操作が非循環的に適用し、格や意味役割といったA移動に関わる操作は、論理形式部門で非顕在的に適用する、という分析を提案した。これは、経験的にも理論的にも妥当かつ斬新なものであると考えられる。現在、コロナウイルス感染症による渡航制限が緩和されつつあることを踏まえ、研究成果を本格的に世界へ向けて発信していくことを目指している。2022年度に引き続き国内の専門家による協力・支援を最大限に活かし、まずは国内での研究成果発表によって研究の基盤固めを行う。前述の紀要論文に加筆・修正を行い、英語論文として電子媒体で公開できるよう、国際ジャーナルへの投稿準備を進めている。カートグラフィー理論を基にした研究が成熟を迎えてきた昨今、日本語のように話者の心的態度が終助詞として具現される言語の研究は極めて重要かつ興味深いテーマであると言える。伝統的な国語学・日本語学における優れた知見は日本国内でしか認知されていないが、これらを言語学界全体に周知することで、申請者を含め世界中の研究者がそれらを応用した研究を推進することに寄与できると考えられる。
