本研究の目的は，労働者の幸福感格差について，個々人の準拠集団である「職業」と他者との職業比較による「剥奪感」に着目し，複層的に検討することで，幸福感格差のメカニズムを明らかにすることである。具体的には，競争社会下で社会や他者との比較をすることにより生じる，現状と理想，自己イメージと他者イメージなどの乖離を，調査と実験によって計量的に明らかにすることで，見えない社会格差の明示化を試みる。これは通常の労働研究で計量分析的なアプローチが困難だった特殊な調査対象者を，多様性を損なわずに得ることで包括的な分析することを目的とするものである。さらに，この調査は合理的選択理論の実験デザインを応用し，相対的剥奪の質問紙実験を行うところにも特徴がある。これは，社会生活を営むなかで発生しうる相対的剥奪状況を調査シナリオとして設定し，その疑似的刺激に対し，どのような反応をするのかを測定することで，通常の質問紙への回答では得ることが難しいデータを得るものである。当該年度においては，相対的剥奪に着目し，得られると想定したものに対して実際の差分についてどのように測定するかを議論し，学会発表を行った。これは通常差分を取るだけで縮約されていない情報を反映させた算出を可能にするかについての研究で，汎用範囲の広い知見となる。発表により得られたコメントで一定の成果を得た。所属組織の異動の影響により，昨年に引き続き本年も調査の実施には至らなかったが，先行研究や資料の収集と分析手法のアップデートを行った。特に、近年注目される「サーベイ実験」は、本研究で予定していた質問紙実験に類する手法で、より有効であると考えられるため、これらの手法が多く使われる政治学などの研究レビューを行い、セミナーに参加して準備を進めた。これを踏まえ，次年度以降の研究計画に反映させるべく研究計画の見直しにも着手した。
