项目摘要

本研究の目的は，保育者を対象とする幼児期の数量活動に対する意識評価尺度を開発することである。遊びを通して行われる幼児期の保育は，子どもたちの豊かな気づき，考え，感性を育むために，子どもたちの主体性を尊重しながら，保育者が教育的な意図をもって教材・絵本・遊具などの環境を構成し行われている。しかし，科学教育の基盤となる数量活動に関する環境設定は，運動，音楽，製作などの他の活動と比べ，幼児期遊びに意図的に取り入れられることが少ない現状がある。したがって，保育者の数量活動への意識の高低により，その数量活動に対する支援は大きく左右され，その結果，子どもたちの数・量・形に対する興味・関心・気づきを育めていないという重大な課題がある。しかしながら，保育者の意識は，個々の保育観や研修経験，科学や数学への関心などと関連することが予測されるものの，主観的であるがために判断基準が不明確となることが想定される。そこで，客観的な指標となり得る評価尺度の開発が急務であると考えられる。本研究では，これまでに約200名の保育士の方を対象に質問紙を配布し，データを回収している。そしてさらに，データの分析のための入力作業まで終えている。今後は，統計ソフト(SPSS)を利用し，因子分析・評価尺度の信頼性・妥当性などの統計的な検証を試みる。その後，⑤国内外での研究報告として，保育現場への普及を促すために，日本保育学会などの保育関係の学会，環太平洋乳幼児教育学会(PECERA)や数学教育世界会議(ICME)での，研究発表について検討する。
