Media/rep/ is the open access repository for media studies (https://mediarep.org). The community-led digital archive comprises journals, journal articles, books, book chapters, working papers, dissertations as well as audiovisual resources (lecture recordings, video essays and more). The project ensures the long-term digital preservation of its documents, the consistent use of metadata and the implementation of archiving principles according to internationally recognized standards. It also enhances the findability and discoverability of its documents in academic online libraries andsearch engines.The proposed follow-on project aims at the further development of the repository in several ways. The collection profile will be expanded to include more German publications (journals, academic book series) in film and media studies. The project will systematically ingest English open access publications from these fields. Furthermore, research data from media studies will be archived according to FAIR Data Principles. By reaching out to the academic community and by providing information on the benefits of open access, media/rep/ will contribute to the open access transformation of the discipline.
