Refined experimental techniques based on ultracold gases in optical lattices, created by intense laser fields, have allowed for studies of closed quantum systems far away from equilibrium. Recently, fermionic systems have come into focus. This project aims at a quantitative understanding of the nonequilibrium fermionic dynamics as it appears in the time evolution of the Fermi surface after an abrupt changes (quenches) of the system's parameters. The algorithms will be developed further to address longer times such as relaxation times and their momentum dependence. The region around dynamical phase transitions is particularly fascinating and challenging. The interesting properties of steady states approached at infinite times will be accessed via the contributions with stationary phases.
