本研究では＜労働＞という点から、教員の勤務状況の問題を考察することを目的としている。本年度は、フィールドワークの難しさから、これまでに実施し多アンケート調査の再分析の可能性を探り、また、教員インタビューを中心にデータ収集を実施した。そこでは、ベテラン教員を中心に、「若いころと比べて、教師という仕事にどのような変化があったか」「それは何によるものであると考えるか」を語ってもらった。いずれも、多忙感の変容を検討するのが目的である。それによって、教育労働の変質が明らかになるのではないかと考えられた。インタビューでは、①子ども、保護者の変化、②　対応策が＜現場＞ではなく、＜共通の方策＞に基づかねばなくなったことという二点が、仕事上の複雑さを増していることが明らかになった。同じような生徒指導であるにもかかわらず、その対応策に変化がみられるということである。＜子ども・保護者の変化が、教員の仕事に影響している＞という際、あまりにも当たり前の言説であり、それを特に深く掘り下げているわけではない。上述したインタビュー調査では、問題が『子供の変容』「親の変容」にあるのではなく、その事案の取り扱いが昔と異なってきたことが指摘されていた点で新しい。この観点は重要で、教員の仕事の自律性の範囲が制限されることに係る問題として、考察される必要があると思われる。これまで＜感情労働＞などの理論を参考に、教育労働の本質と近年のその変化を探ろうとしてきたが、対人関係の労働という点からの検討が、今少し必要と思われた。
