研究課題（冠詞と複数形語尾の使い方がわかる英和辞典の開発：名詞的名詞と動詞的名詞を基に）の基礎となる、「名詞的名詞」と「動詞的名詞」の概念について、その定義と必要性・利点を、JACET英語辞書研究会（2023年3月18日）にて発表した。発表題目と要旨は以下の通り。（題目）名詞的名詞(nN)と動詞的名詞(vN)を区別する英語辞書の構想（要旨）英語で名詞を使うときにはその文脈・意図にあった適当な名詞の形（名詞形）を選択する必要がある。主な名詞形には、冠詞(無/a/the)、人称代名詞の所有格(one‘s)、複数形語尾(-s)の有無により７つある（[N] [an N] [the N] [one’s N][Ns] [the Ns] [one‘s Ns]）。今まで名詞形を考える上で、まず考えなければならないのは、その名詞がその文脈の中で可算 [Countable]か不可算[Uncountable]か、を判断するように言われてきたように思う。実際、辞書で名詞を引くと、まず語義（意味）と可算性[C, U, Pl.など]がセットで示されている。しかし [C, U]のように併記されることが多く、CかUかよくわからず悩む場面が多い。本発表の主張は、名詞形を考える上で、CかUかを考える前に、まず、「名詞的名詞(nN) 」か「動詞的名詞(vN) 」かの判断をする必要があり、CかUかの判断が関係するのは、名詞的名詞(nN)の場合に限られる、というものである。もし、この主張に正当性があれば、辞書の記述もそれに合わせて、まず、nN（名詞的名詞）とvN（動詞的名詞）を区別して表記する必要があると考える。発表では、[C][U]だけで名詞形を考えることの問題点を指摘した上で、名詞的名詞(nN)と動詞的名詞(vN)はどのような名詞を指すかを説明し、その区別をすることの利点と思われることを論じたい。
