Adolf Erman is considered as a founder of modern Egyptology. His life and achievements are deeply connected with the changes in this field, starting as a romanticized activity and becoming modern studies of antiquity. His considerable amount of correspondences is as important for the history of Egyptology, as they are for the general history of science. Adolf Ermans estate is passed on in Bremen State and University Library widely complete due to familial relations, though currently his works are only on-site accessible. The continuing nationwide usage of scientists within different specialities, shows the importance of Ermans posthumous papers.This is the reason why the SuUB Bremen is planning to catalogue and digitize his publications, a duty way overdue. This project is supposed to reinforce Ermans research and to acquire fundamentals and avenues of approach of the digitalization of estates. Assuming, because of utilization and request, that scientific research will increase according to digitization.
