The sub-project investigates invective dynamics of contemporary theatrical forms and their institutional environments in German-speaking countries. In the second funding phase, the focus will be on theater from the perspective of translocality and transculturality as a locally situated and medially delimited site for the translation of societal conflict situations (such as migration, generation, inequality, technicization). The project pursues the overarching goal of exploring the interrelationship between dynamics of medial, linguistic-cultural, or discursive translations and those of disparagement from a media cultural studies perspective and in terms of invective theory.
