The aim of the project is the full-digitization of 781 large-format documents from the archival stock "GStA PK, X. Hauptabteilung Brandenburg, Rep. 9 Johanniterorden, Aufschwungtafeln". After the digitization the images with the linked data are presented on the website of the GStA PK as well as in the Archivportal-D and in the German Digital Library.The "Rep. 9" of the X. main section of the GStA PK comprises 1260 "Aufschwörungstafeln", which were created between 1691 and 1810 for Knighthood-Candidates of the "Ballei Brandenburg". Nobles, who asked to be accepted into the Order, had to prove their nobel arrival over four generations. This was, as a rule, demonstrated by the drawing of elegant ancestor panels. The parchments were taken over by the Prussian Secret State Archives in rolled state in 1824. After the long time of poor storage, the documents are often damaged.In the proposed project should be digitized 781 of these large-scale pictorial certificates (479 of these parchment panels have already been digitized within the fundraising project "Future for the Heritage" of the GStA PK between 2011 and 2015). The digital images are intended to capture the frontsides of the parchment and must also be made for the backsides when these contain historical notes. According to the previous estimate, approximately 50 percent of the documents provide these back-notes, so that a total of 1171 digital copies are requested.
