项目摘要

本研究は、現代イギリス演劇を、1990年代以降の「画像論的転回」の文脈に照らして検討し、作品および作家の語りから読み取ることのできる社会的認識や審美的態度を含む個人の認識論的変容の様相を明らかにすることを目指す。本研究はまず、これまで視覚文化・表象との関わりが詳細に検討されてこなかった現代イギリスの劇作家や戯曲の経時的変容の一部を明らかにする。また本研究は文学研究と視覚文化・表象研究の2領域を接続し、とりわけポストコロナの新しい生活様式において映像文化に注目が集まる中、個人の自己認識・自己構築に視覚文化がもたらす影響を可視化し、視覚文化・表象と社会をめぐる諸問題に対して現代イギリスの劇作家や戯曲がさまざまな示唆を与えうることを示すという意義がある。本年度の研究の成果としては、今年度の研究課題の一つとしていた（1）「画像論的転回」の主唱者であるW.J.T.ミッチェルの論考や論考の発表当時の学術的な背景等の検証を進めることができたこと、それに関連して（2）現代イギリス演劇史における視覚的な演劇の登場に関する論考の一部を検討することができたこと、また2025年度の研究課題につながる（3）英国ナショナル・シアターに収蔵されている現代イギリス演劇の上演映像の一部を調査することができたこと、（4）イギリスで刊行されたチャーチルの共同制作者に関する資料を入手できたこと、の4点が挙げられる。（1）（2）ではミッチェルの論考を現代イギリス演劇の分析に応用する方法を検討し、1990年代以降の視覚的な演劇の登場の事例として注目されるデイヴィッド・ヘアのThe Blue Room（1999）を対象に試験的な分析を試みることで、文学分野と視覚文化・表象研究の2領域を接続した分析の方法論を検討することができた。（3）（4）については今後も継続的な調査を進めていく。

This study focuses on the social cognition and aesthetic attitude of modern drama and the context of "the return of portrait theory" since 1990s, including the content of individual epistemology. This study focuses on the relationship between visual culture and image, and discusses in detail the content of modern Chinese dramatists and operas. This study covers two areas: literary research, visual culture, and image research. It focuses on the new life style, image culture, and focus on the individual's own understanding and self-construction. The problems of visual culture, appearance and society are related to modern dramatists and operas. This year's research results include: (1) The author of "The Return of Portrait Theory", W.J.T., and the research on the academic background of the time;(2) The history of modern drama;(3) The appearance of drama;(4) The author of "The Return of Portrait Theory", W.J.T., and the research on "The Return of Portrait Theory". The 2025 research project was conducted in the United Kingdom.(3) A survey was conducted on the performance of modern drama.(4) Data on the co-producers of English drama was published in the UK. (1)(2) Discussion on The methodology of modern drama analysis, discussion on the appearance of drama in the 1990s, discussion on the methodology of image analysis, discussion on the division of literature, and discussion on the methodology of image analysis. (3)(4) The investigation of future cases shall be carried out in the middle of the investigation.
