英文摘要
The Specialised Information Service (SIS) German Studies represents the wide variety of the subject, namely German language and literature studies from their beginnings to the present day. Publishing, participating, searching, and research are four core elements of scholarly practice for German philologists, for which the SIS will offer services within a newly established research infrastructure.Publishing in the context of the SIS German Studies refers to digital publishing and is advanced by the infrastructure component (publication) repository as well as by a journal hosting service based on the software Open Journal Systems (OJS). Cooperation agreements have been signed among others with institutions without their own infrastructure, literary societies, and the online directory of German Studies Researchers of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).A high degree of interaction between library and academics is essential for the success of a service-oriented Specialised Information Service. Participating in the SIS German Studies is possible in a variety of ways, for which low-threshold feedback functions will be available as well as information resources for users. An online tool is being developed, which informs researchers about current digital work techniques and more. The web portal “Germanistik im Netz (GiN)”, which is a well-established online research tool within the discipline will be extended with unique content and new functionalities. Bibliographical references of scholarly literature (in print, e-only, or both formats), records of archival holdings (via Kalliope Union Catalogue), full-text databases including Deutsches Textarchiv, as well as announcements (such as postings from H-Germanistik) are all available with a single mouse click. As an additional research-centered service of the SIS German Studies a text mining tool is to be developed in close cooperation with the German Studies community. Through a diachronic analysis of bibliographic and other expert information the evolution of fields, methods, and networks within German Studies will be made visible.
