Design earth pressure and development of settlements at integral bridges

Within the applied transfer project the existing design approaches for integral bridges will be checked. Fundamental basis are extensive measurements at an integral bridge in the city of Dortmund, where the DEGES has the function of the investor. Part of the measurements is the distribution of the earth pressure as a function of the number of cycles. Furthermore, the deformations of the building and the adjacent refill are determined as a function of its temperature. By a numerical model using improved stress strain relations developed within the research group FOR 1136 Geotech the results of the calculations are compared with the actual design approach for integral bridges. If necessary the actual rules are revised.
