This project should be seen in the context of the third part of the main phase of the National Digital Library and Bibliography of German 18th century imprints („Digitization and Cataloguing of Printed Material Published in the 18th Century in the German-Speaking Areas”). The aim of the project is the digitization of 4.000 18th century imprints of the University and State Library (ULB) Sachsen-Anhalt within 12 months. The digital publications will incorporate structural data which will facilitate the usability of the publications on the Internet. The digital imprints will be provided in permanent open access via various national and international databases for the purpose of study and research. An additional aim is the cataloguing of further 4.000 imprints, which already have been digitized by Google at the Bavarian State Library and are also owned by the ULB, according to the national bibliographic standards of the project.
