2022年度における主な業務は、全体的な研究フレームワークの順調な推進と、既に収集した日中庭園の現地測定データのさらなる補足、そして文献の収集、整理、分析であった。まず、新型コロナの影響で前期に実施できなかった中国の江南地域の庭園に対する調査を順調に完了した。4週間をかけて蘇州の庭園について適度に拡大調査を行い、庭園都市の調査範囲を杭州、湖州などの江南地域、つまり重要な庭園が繁栄していた地域にまで拡大した。次に、文献の収集と整理も非常に良い進展を遂げ、文献中の造園法と実際の造園現場を充分に比較し、重要な分析と結論を得た。また、日中の伝統的な山水画における空間の観点からの論述も予想通りの進展と成果を達成した。最後には、本研究の最も重要な部分、全体的な研究フレームワークの推進である。主に以下の三つの方面がある：1）三遠理論を手がかりにして、京都の庭園における空間要素の組み合わせ関係を整理した。三遠は庭園と絵画の最も基本的な要素空間関係の組み合わせの方法で、空間構成において鍵となる役割を果たする。これにより、三遠理論を用いて異なる歴史期における京都庭園の空間構造特徴を分析する段階的な結論が形成された。2）景を単位に、庭園図集中の庭景の形式と接続の構造的分析を通じて、物語性の構造の意味で異なる歴史時期の「庭景」の分類をまとめることを目指している。そして、借景、対景などの組景手法を整理し、景物の要素構成や構造特徴を探求した。さらに、類型学的な手法を組み合わせて、庭園と伝統的な山水画の空間構造を比較し、類型化、系統化の比較と総括を行った。3）類型化、系統化された庭園要素の形態、組合せ手法、そして構造的な接続を修辞手法と見なす。修辞手法と空間概念の比較分析を通じて、最終的には伝統的な山水画と庭園の中の異なるレベルの空間修辞タイプを解読することができた。
