项目摘要

本研究は、ルワンダおよびウガンダを対象とし、従来父方の叔母・姪間でのみ行われてきた、「性と生殖に関する知識の伝達」が、血縁関係にない第三者に外部化されながらも維持されていることについて、i) 次世代の再生産行動を規定・形成する人口再生産機能としての継続性がどのように担保されているのかを明らかにした上で、ii) 異なる「性と生殖に関する知識の伝達」形態の社会的受容性について考察することを目的とする。本年度は、文献調査や、二次データ収集を中心に行った。人口保健調査（DHS：Demographic Health Survey）をはじめとする二次データを用い、i) 都市化、ii) 核家族化、iii) 女性の就業率といった要因について、中・長期的な変遷および諸要因の相関関係を明らかにすることを試みた。ウガンダとの主要な比較点として、ルワンダで起きた1994年の大虐殺の影響に着目した。大虐殺は、死別による家族の喪失に加え、国内外への避難、そして帰還の過程で、家族の拡散を招き、家族形態の変容に特に影響していると言える。また、家族社会学的手法により、家族制度の観点から、父系制拡大家族社会の中で成立していた慣習が、1988年の「家族法」による法的な核家族化により変化したことについて、二次資料をもとに理論化を試みた。
