本研究は、英語圏ユートピア文学・思想と生殖・育児の関係を明らかにすることを目指している。2022年度は、20世紀後半のユートピア文学、SFを代表する米国の作家Ursula K. Le Guinの作品を中心に研究し、それとの比較で、19世紀から20世紀前半の作家たち、特にMary Shelley、H. G. Wells、Rose Macaulay、Charlotte Haldane、Aldous Huxleyの作品を分析した。この研究を踏まえて、2022年10月8日に、The International Association for the Fantastic in the Artsの開催する国際会議First Virtual International Conference on the Fantastic in the Artsに出席し、“Anthropology and Utopian Literature before and after Brave New World”と題する発表を行った。ここでは、Le Guinを含む主に20世紀のユートピア文学の作家たちが、同時代の科学言説（人類学など）を取り入れつつ、ジェンダーやセクシュアリティといった点で科学言説よりも柔軟で寛容なヴィジョンを提示していることを指摘した。また、Alice Cheylan and Alain Morello編集による国際共著Special Edition of Babel Transverses - Aldous Huxley（正式タイトル未定）に収録される一章を執筆した（採用済）。このなかでは、Le Guinのユートピア文学が、過去や同時代の人類学から影響を受けるだけでなく、多様な性のあり方を認める人類学および人類学者像を提案していることに注目している。同書は、フランスのUniversity of Toulonの文学・文化研究叢書の一冊として2023年後半または2024年前半に刊行される予定である。

This study focuses on the relationship between literature, thought, reproduction and parenting. In 2022, the second half of the 20th century was written by Ursula K. Le Guin's works are central to the study, comparison, 19th century writers from the first half of the 20th century, Mary Shelley, H. G.
