During the first year, I completed to collect data from English second language (L2) learners from Japan with diverse proficiency. Following the procedure that I planned before, each participant completed the speaking and writing tasks under my guidance. After finishing the data collection, two research assistants transcribed the speaking data. Then, another two research assistants organized the speaking and writing data for scoring.
