项目摘要

2022年度は，成人を対象とした実験に寄り，表情に対する接近回避反応を測定するための新たな手法を開発した。喜び表情と怒り表情を用い，呈示された表情刺激に対して実際に前進，或いは後退するまでの時間を計測した。その結果，この反応時間が理論的に想定される接近回避反応と一致することが示された。この知見は，心理学一般を射程に含める国際誌であるCurrent Psychology誌に掲載された。接近回避反応は，これまで手指の微細な動きによって検討されてきており，その難しさから幼児や児童を対象とした研究はほとんど行われていなかった。そのため，接近回避反応には進化的な起源が想定されているにも関わらず，それが本当に幼いころから見られるのか，また発達的にどのような変化を遂げるのかなどはまだ明らかにされていない。2022年度の研究によって確立された手法は，幼児にとっても容易に実施できるものであるため，次年度以降はこの手法を用いて接近回避反応の発達的変化について検討を重ねていく予定である。また加えて今年度は，幼児及び成人を対象として，語長効果の予備実験を行い，手続き等の確認を完了させた。語長効果とは，主に視覚提示された刺激を記憶する際，その名称の文字数が記憶成績に影響するという現象であり，幼児期から児童期にかけて生じ始めることが指摘されている。これは，視覚刺激を言語化して処理する傾向の表れを反映していると考えられるため，次年度以降は語長効果を取り扱い，この言語化傾向が感情認識に及ぼす影響を明らかにする。
