项目摘要

本研究の目的は，北海道稚内市における住民・学校・家庭・地域のカーリングの受容と，「通年型カーリング場」を拠点とした「総合型地域スポーツクラブ」の創設，選手強化へ向けた取り組みについて時系列で捉えることを軸足に，カーリング先進地調査による知見を加え，今後の示唆を得ることである．22年度は，主に3つの柱で実施した．第１に，戦後北海道で数多く創造された「ニュースポーツ」の「後発性」と，1980年以降に普及，拡大された「カーリング」との文脈的な共通性，類似性の検討である．その中でも筆者は，1972年に北海道大樹町で誕生したミニバレーの普及，拡大の過程に注目した．22年度は，考案者へのインタビュー調査と，普及の一翼を担う「公認審判講習会」における講義録などからミニバレーの普及，拡大の要因を調査し，分析を行った．本調査結果の一部は，研究成果として刊行した．第2に，稚内市内のカーリング動向調査である．市内のカーリング関係者から協会資料の提供，元協会幹部へのインタビュー調査，eスポーツとカーリングの接続可能性，学校教員向けのカーリング指導方法の検討などを行った．上記の学校教員向けのカーリング指導方法の検討結果，eスポーツとカーリングの接続可能性については，それぞれ研究成果として刊行した．また，2022年10月に誕生したカーリングを核とする総合型地域スポーツクラブ「みどりスポーツクラブわっかない」の時系列での動きを詳細に記録し続けている．第3に，カーリング関係者との調査交渉である．調査予定地である北見市，名寄市，長野県軽井沢町のカーリング協会関係者との名刺交換を行い，調査への協力を取り付けることができた．以上のように，本年度はカーリングの普及，拡大の様子を，過去，現在，ニュースポーツという3つの方向性からアプローチすることができ，その一部を研究成果として刊行することができた．
