本研究は、宗教観光で有名な聖地であるネパールのゴルカ郡のマナカマナ寺院周辺の現地起業家育成への貢献度を明らかにする目的である。現地起業家の生計、事業の持続可能性、観光依存型ビジネスが抱える課題を分析して、地方自治体が採用しうる／すべき政策や支援策も合わせて提案することになっている。一次データの定性的分析及び量的的分析を使用して混合方法を採用することにしている。それに伴い、以下の研究成果が得られている。① 創価大学の研究者対象となる、「人を対象とする研究倫理審査(IRB)」を行い2022年5月20日に本研究の進める許可が下りた。② 現地に行ってインタビュー調査KII（Key Informant Interview）とアンケート調査を行なった。期間は2022年7月の23日から2022年8月の6日の間で行った。③ 取集したデータの結果（定性的及び定量的）の分析は2023年1月まで行った。④ 2023年2月16日から2023年2月18日の間、アメリカ・ラスベガスで行われた国際学会（2023 WEST FEDERATION CHRIE CONFERENCEに参加し本研究の成果を発表した。様々なコメントやアドバイスを受け取った。⑤ 2023年3月28日に一つ論文を作成しInternational Journal of Tourism Researchというジャーナルに査読のために申請している。
