This research aims at developing positron emission tomography (PET) brain insert for a 7 Tesla MRI system. We have already developed radiofrequency (RF) coils for this purpose. The RF coil includes PET detector module as an integral part. Four microstrip transmission line RF coils have been developed. We have performed coil optimization test and few performance tests at laboratory. We have also experimented several design configurations for the PET coils. With the second year's budget, we will develop circuits for these coils. After this stage, we will perform PET and MRI imaging experiments at the 7 Tesla MRI facility in the National Institute for Physiological Sciences (NIPS) in Aichi. This collaboration study will be conducted by the end of 2023. A scientific paper in under review now.
