The aim of this methodological project on qualitative interview research is to examine the relevance of participants’ social positions for the production of answers in qualitative research interviews. For this purpose, the sequential realization of textual genres (narrations, descriptions, giving reasons etc.) is being utilized as an essential heuristic to specify questions and answers.Systematic and sequential secondary analyzes of qualitative research interviews are carried out with two goals: 1) To reconstruct if and how there are specific communicative patterns among social groups, that is if they give an answer in the textual genre the interviewer has elicited and how they produce this textual genre in terms of its particular modality. 2) To explore the relevance of various interactively shaped differences between the interviewer and the interviewee with regard to the realization of different types of textual genres.
