本研究は, 本格的に実施される「特別の教科道徳」の指導法を試行, 開発を目的として行った。小学校は平成30年, 中学校は平成31年から「特別の教科道徳」と位置づけられる背景として, 学校教育の中核と位置づけられていながら, 教育課程の中では有機的に機能されにくい状況にあったり, 僅々の課題としていじめ問題の対応が求められたりしているからである。そこで, 次期学習指導要領答申の中に盛り込まれている「主体的, 対話的で深い学び」, つまりアクティブラーニングの視点で道徳の授業を再考した。ここ数年, 本校の研究テーマは「協同的問題解決学習」をキーワードとして研究推進されている土壌があり, 道徳の授業においてもアクティブラーニングの視点で授業構成することに適していた。今年度道徳教育のさまざまな研修に参加し, 道徳の授業方法について精査する中, 「協同的問題解決学習」の手法を道徳の授業に用いることは極めて有効であろうという仮説のもと研究授業を実施した。総体的に生徒はこれまでの生活の中で, 自分なりの道徳的価値を確立してきているものの, これからの歩みの中でさらに有意なものへと発展させる可能性を持っている。研究授業では, 小グループで個の持つ道徳的価値(規則遵守)について交流する場面を仕組んだ。各グループでの交流では, 新たな道徳的価値の視点を生み出す生徒の姿を見出すことができた。例えば, 「規則遵守」と「人としてのやさしさ」についてのすみわけの難しさを感じていた生徒が, 多様な道徳的価値観に触れることで, 「規則遵守こそが人へのやさしさに通じるもの」と変化したことがあげられる。こうして自分の世界観のなかで育まれる道徳的価値は, 道徳の授業, それも小集団を活用したアクティブラーニングの手法を用いる授業の中で多様性を帯び, 生きざまを変化させる授業の創造へと飛躍させることが明らかとなった。
