本実践は,さまざまなメディアから送られてくる情報を生徒たちが主体的に読み取る能力を育成することを目指したものである。そのために生徒にメディアの「送り手」の立場を体験させた。昨年度は,2年現代文の授業の中で「ラジオドキュメント」を制作させたが,今回は,私たちに最も大きな影響を与えている「テレビ」の役割と限界を考えるため,1年国語総合の授業の中で「テレビドキュメント」の制作をさせた。「テレビ」には「ラジオ」以上に送り手のフィルターがかかっており,たとえニュースといえども,送られてくる様々な情報が現実そのままではない。このことを実感をもって気づき,メディアの役割と限界を主体的に考えさようとした。授業の形態としては,昨年度同様,5人をベースにしたグループを作らせ,グループで題材決定から制作までを行わせた。そして,インタビュー素材とナレーションを組み合わせて約5分の番組を制作させた。制作後は制作したものをクラスで鑑賞しあい,批評会を設けた。学習者たちは,5分という時間制限の中で,インタビュー素材のどこを使い,どの順番で構成していくかを考えた。また今回は,音声のみならず映像表現の効果などを制作過程の中で気づいていったことにより,マスメディアから送り出される情報も送り手の意図がかなり反映されていることに学習者が自ら気づくことに役立った。自分たちの番組は「事実」を素材として取り扱っているが,事実そのままではないこと,どのように構成するかによって番組の印象が変わること,送り手の意図が番組に反映されることなどを学習者たちは制作の経験を通し学ぶことができた。この実践はメディアリテラシーの育成のみならず,国語の総合力を伸ばすことにつながり,とりわけ「話す力・聞く力」や論理的思考力・コミュニケーション能力の育成にもなる取り組みであった。
