○研究目的携帯電話に過度に依存している子ども(以下「携帯依存症」)の心的特性を調査研究し、さらに「携帯依存症」への有効な対応方法・対策を考えることを目的とした。○研究方法月1回中学校教員等と「携帯ネットいじめ対策会議」で情報交換した。トラブルだけでなく、効果的な指導法も情報交換した。また、他の都道府県(長野県、東京都、福岡県等)の子ども及び教員から情報収集の機会を持った。予想以上に現場教員が状況把握をできていないことが明らかになったため、調査対象を弁護士に加えた。○研究成果5,000名規模のアンケート分析から「携帯依存症」の特性がわかった。日に30通以上メールする子どもを他と比べると、「睡眠時間が少ない」「親子の会話が少ない」「勉強に自信がない」「部活に参加しない」等がわかった(すべて0.1%水準で有意)。また、大阪を含む7都道府県で、子ども、教員及び弁護士へのインタビュー調査から「携帯依存症」の多くが「即レク(すぐに返信すること)」が、友達関係を維持するために必要だと話し、布団の中にも携帯電話を持ち込み、就寝後のメールにも対応していることがわかった。また、「携帯依存症」が有意に多く出会い系サイト等の犯罪サイトにアクセスしていることがわかった。「さびしい」「自分のことをわかってほしい」と強く思っており、その逃げ場に出会い系サイト等を利用していることがわかった。以上から、すべての大人の協力が必要だとわかった。特に子どもが安心できる居場所をどう作るかが、携帯電話対策の鍵であることがわかった。そのための授業づくりが必要だが、危険への対応方法等にとどまっているので、今後の課題である。また、効果的なのは、子ども同士の対応だとわかった。寝屋川市で全中学校生徒会執行部からなる「中学生サミット」がネットいじめのない学校づくりのために、いじめ撲滅劇を作成し、自分の問題として考え始めたことは意義深い。
