研究成果授業実践として,中学2年生を対象に次の2つの学習指導に取り組んだ。(1)美術科教員と協力して写真の撮り方(被写体との距離やアングルや構図)を考える授業を展開した後,各自で「友だち」をテーマとした写真を撮る。写真をもとに詩を創作し,相互評価をする。(2)リンゴを被写体として言葉で描写する。また,リンゴをモチーフにした複数の写真からいくつかを組み合わせて物語を創作する。実践(1)から,伝えたい事柄を写真画像として切り取ることと言葉で表現することの2つの関係を意識する生徒の姿が見られた。具体的には,アングルによって伝わるイメージが変わることや構図を工夫して複数の被写体の関係を表現できることなどに気付き,伝えたい事柄に合わせて写真を撮り直す生徒の姿が多く見られた。実践(2)からはリンゴを「赤い」「丸い」といった表層的な表現しかできなかった者が,目の前のリンゴを言葉で描写することで,五感を使って表現したり,リンゴの生育してきた様子まで想像したりすることができるようになり,ほとんどの者に表現の質的な高まりが見られた。また物語の創作に描写表現を効果的に使っていた生徒が多くいた。以上のことから,描写力を身に付けるためには美術科教員の指導助言が有効であることが検証できた。また事前事後のアンケート結果の比較をしてみると,描写力が身に付いたかどうかの自己評価で肯定的な回答が46.1ポイント上昇したことや,描写された文章から書き手の意図を読み取る力が身に付いたかどうかに肯定的な回答をした者が29.0ポイント上昇するなど,顕著な変化が見られた。(N=77)このことから描写力を磨くことは書く力を身に付ける以外にも,読解力によい影響を及ぼすことが分かった。課題としては描写力に対して学習評価をどうするかという点が明確になっていないことがある。
