本研究では、これまでの幼児を対象とした研究を基礎に、児童を対象とした運動の有能感を測定する尺度を開発し、さらに、運動能力、遊びの調査、学校での行動特徴、体育の授業に対する取組などを調査し、それらの関係を明らかにすることを目的として行ってきた。昨年は、児童の運動有能感尺度のデーター収集を目的として、神奈川県下の3校、山梨県甲府市の1校の計4校の小学1年、2年生の児童(男女)を対象に以下の検査項目の測定を行った。研究の最終年度である本年度は、昨年度に収集されたそれぞれのデータを処理し、10項目からなる低学年用運動有能感尺度を作成した。さらに、この尺度の信頼性と妥当性を求めると同時に、児童期の子どもたちの運動に関する有能感と子どもたちの行動傾向を明らかにするために、運動有能感尺度の結果と運動能力、有能さを含む教師による児童の行動評定、教師の運動評定、遊びの実態、体育の授業に対する取組との関連性に関して分析を行った。その結果、運動有能感尺度の結果と文部省の小学校低学年用の運動能力検査の間には「もちはこび走」を除く4種目と有能さを含む教師による児童の行動評定のうち「運動場面」、教師の運動評定の間に有意な相関を認められた。また、遊びの実態、体育の授業に対する取組との関連性に関しては、全体として、学年が1年生から2年生へと進行するに従い、男子の方が運動有能感が学校や家庭での運動活動に対して影響を与える傾向が高いことを示していた。
