篩を用いた咀嚼能力判定法(篩分法)は,比較的客観的な評価が得られやすい反面,咀嚼能力判定試験の手間が煩雑であり,また,判定までに時間を要することからチェアーサイドで行われていないのが現状である.それに代わる方法として,アンケートを用いた咀嚼能力判定法があるが,この方法で得られた結果は,患者の主観性に左右されていることが多く,判定結果としては客観性に乏しいと考えられる.一方,FUZZY理論は,結果から主観性を排除する目的で,様々な分野に応用されている.そこで,アンケートを用いた咀嚼能力判定法にこの理論を応用すれば,判定結果に客観性を持たせることが可能になるのではないかと考え,この研究を行った.平成10年度には,アンケートに用いる食品の決定およびアンケートの作製を行い,FUZZY理論を応用したコンピュータープログラムの作製を行った.平成11年度は,このプロフラムを実際の患者に用いて咀嚼能率の判定を行い,同時に,従来から行われている篩を用いた咀嚼能率判定法(篩分法)も行った.次にその両者の比較を行い,その両者の差が5%以下になるように,システムチューニングを施した.その結果,今回作製したコンピュータープログラムと篩を用いた咀嚼能率判定法(篩分法)に,70.6%の相関が得られた.しかしながら,実際の臨床に使用するためには,少なくとも75%以上の相関が必要と考えられるため,研究を継続していく予定である.
