项目摘要

本研究において焦点となった地域は中朝国境の白頭山、および韓国忠清南道の鶏龍山である。これらは「民族」を準拠枠とした現代韓国ナショナリズムの聖地として、近代以降、宗教意識と結びついた民衆レベルでの社会的動態をもたらしてきたからである。まず今年度の研究成果として、昨年度以来おもに文献の言説分析を行なってきた白頭山巡礼にかかわる論考2本を発表した。すなわち日本統治時代の民族主義的脈絡のもと、朝鮮の国祖・檀君が天下ったという太白山をめぐり、これを"今の妙香山"とする従来の説(『三国遺事』)が、当時の知識人の巧みなレトリックにより、白頭山へと微妙にスライドされていって現在のように知識化された点、その上で80年代末以降現在に至る膨張主義的ナショナリズムが構築され、それが韓国人による中国東北地方での失地回復運動や旺盛な観光行為を引き起こしている点などを指摘した。あわせて白頭山は檀君信仰のもと祖国統一のシンボルとして表象化され、統一運動に対し顕在的に順機能している。かかる局面を光州事件後の光州巡礼の場に見出し、白頭山巡礼との通底性を論じた著書を出版した。次に今年度に遂行した研究資料調査、現地調査は鶏龍山にかかわるものが中心であった。李朝時代に流行した予言書『鄭鑑録』により十勝之地(どんな災難もそこに行けば免れるとされる10ヶ所の地)、加えて李朝五百年に替わる新王朝の都とされた鶏龍山一帯には、かつて多くの新興宗教団体が集居していたが、84年に軍隊が造成されたことでそのほとんどは強制撤去された。本調査では大きく(1)"秘訣派"と呼ばれるかつての避難民の子孫、(2)シャーマン、(3)鶏龍山を追われたいくつかの新興宗教団体への聞き取り調査を実施したが、ことに(3)では民族ナショナリズムとの通底性が見出され、また当時の軍事政権による強制撤去という点に、それら宗教思想に内包された政治性、当局との対抗性が確認された。
