项目摘要

本年度は、日本語方言の文法構造の解明とその理論的含意の追求を次の3つのテーマに関して行った。3つのテーマとは、斜格における文法関係のありかたの記述と二重対格構文の追加調査、そして形態音韻的プロセスの相互作用によって生じる音韻的不透明性に関する調査である。上記3つのテーマに関連するデータを得るため、過去に行った調査のデータ整理を行うとともに、新たに茨城県水海道市内においてフィールドワークを行った。斜格における文法関係のあり方に関しては、調査結果を英文論文The grammatical function of oblique elements in the Mitsukaido dialect of Japanese. (Shigeru Sato and Kaoru Horie(eds.),Cognitive-Functional Linguistics in an East Asian Context, Tokyo : Kuroshio Publishersに収録)として公にした。標準語やいくつかの言語では斜格主語と間接目的語が同じ格で標示されるが、日本語の方言の中には2つの要素が別々の格で標示されるものがある。上記の論文では、このような格体系の方言が持つ類型論的な意義について論じた。二重対格構文の追加調査では、古い文献資料の調査とフィールドワークから、所有者繰り上げ型だけでなく複他動詞文型の二重対格構文が水海道方言に存在することがわかった。この新たに見つかった二重対格構文については、近刊予定のThe Double Accusative Possessor Ascension Construction in the Mitsukaido Dialect of Japaneseのなかで扱っている。音韻的不透明性に関しては、子音の無声化のある方言におけるガ行鼻濁音の振る舞いを中心に調査を行った。調査結果は、Sympathy Theoryなどのような厳密な並列的処理の理論では分析できない不透明性を呈する現象が日本語方言にはあるという昨年度の見通しを裏付けるものであった。
