项目摘要

最近、家庭科等の教科書に登場してくる"ユニバーサルデザイン〔以下、UD〕"という言葉について、主にその教育方法を研究した。現在はこの教育方法がいまだ未確定であること、および米国においては建築などデザイン教育として発祥したために、一部のデザイナー教育になっている点を考慮し、消費としてすべての生活者の「自立」をめざして生活環境を創りだしてゆく「一般的な教育」の方法を研究した。今年度の成果は次の5点にある。第一にUD概念の教材資料化である。UD概念の発祥から歴史などをノーマラゼーション・バリアフリー・ミスターアベレージ・ユニバーサルデザインの4つのキーワードで説明した。第二にUDの米国での現況、用語をめぐる課題および「ユニバーサル」という原語について論じた。第三に視覚障害に関する介護支援教育にたづさわる新しい分担研究者を加え、現行の支援教育の課題から、本研究での生活教育への研究フレームを構築したことである。第四にUD教育のために障害者の「分類」および生活「自立」の概念を整理したことである。障害を7分類、生活「自立」のポイントを6点に整理した。第五に、衣生活と食生活、住生活の三点にわたって詳細なUD教育の実践の方法を考えたことである。「衣」においては被服の着脱などに対して腕、手首、指などの詳細なデータを取り、これを前述の障害7分類、自立6観点から整理した。同じく「食」の分野においては、味噌汁など自立に必要な簡単な調理を人間の調理行動を詳細に観察し、これも上記の観点でまとめている。「住」に関しても洗面・入浴・化粧などの行為にしぼって上記の詳細なフローを作成し、これをポーザー表現にしようとしている。
