1.イギリス植民地時代のビルマ(1886年から1948年)において作成された、通称「チッティーサージョウッ」と呼ばれる土地の権利移動や借金に関する手書きの文書を、平成18年12月から平成19年1月にかけて、ミャンマーで収集した。今まで収集した文書はミャウンミャ、パテイン、モーラミャインチュン、ンガプードーなど、エーヤーワディ・デルタ深部の、開発の歴史が比較的新しい地域に偏っていたが、今回は、ダイウーやニャウンレービンなど、デルタの上部、開発の歴史が古いところの文書が収集できた。ただし、昨年と同じく、ミャンマーの書籍商に研究目的に合致する文書を所有している人物を探させて、彼を通じて購入するという方法を取った。理由は高橋自身が収集するには時間的に余裕がないだけでなく、外国人が買いに行くより現地の人が売りやすいと考えたからである。2.すでに東洋文化研究所が所蔵している同文書のうち、小作関係に関する文書186枚を探し出し、これらをスキャナーで読み込んでデジタル化した。さらにこれらの文書一枚一枚について、書かれた年月日、場所、農地貸借の当事者、農地の種類、面積、場所、小作料、小作期間、小作契約の解消および継続の条件、証人等について細かく分類し、データベースを作成した。3.連合王国・ロンドンにあるBritish LibraryのAsian and African Studies,ロンドン大学のLondon School Economics, School of Oriental and African StudiesおよびNational Archivesにて、「チッティーサージョウッ」が取り交わされた植民地期のビルマ農村に関連する諸資料のうち、ビルマとイギリス本国との間で交わされた多数の書簡の中から農地の集積問題に関する資料を閲覧し、必要な部分をコピーおよびデジタル撮影した。
