项目摘要

本年度は、スイスをフィールドとして、アルプス・ヨーロッパにおける空間秩序意識の形成について考察した。博物館としては、チューリヒ国立博物館、ベルン市立博物館、バーゼル市立博物館、サンクト・ガレン修道院歴史博物館を訪ね、誓約同盟スイスにおける地域空間秩序に関する、対照的な都市空間秩序形成に関する三類型を確定することができた。第一類型:チューリヒは、都市空間のスプロール化を特徴とする商工金融複合都市、第二類型:ベルンは中世都市空間秩序の化石化を特徴とする文化・政治都市、第三類型:バーゼルは、旧城塞・ライン河貫流によって規定されたメッセ(大市)国際商業・金融(BIS)都市。日本やアジア諸国には、基本的に第一類型のチューリヒ型のスプロール化された都市空間秩序しかない。北京も清朝時代の胡同を解体することで、政治文化都市としての性格を一掃させつつある。バーゼルは、ロッテルダムからバーゼルまでを同一の河川船舶で連結できる城塞を有するメッセ都市(大市特権神聖ローマ皇帝マキシミリアン賦与)であること。ベルンは1218年に神聖ローマ皇帝フリードリヒII世から認可された帝国自由都市形成の基盤が、湾曲するアーレ河に囲まれた台地状の地形によって決定されており、旧市街の街わりを維持してきた街区共同体(水くみ場=噴水)の強固な残存が中世都市を化石化したこと。歴史的には、自由農民、自治都市市民層主導の誓約同盟自治のスイスが、神聖ローマ帝国から分離後も、特に前方オーストリアにおいては、バーゼル八人衆がハプスブルク家による地域統合を支持していたことによってその伝統的空間秩序を規定していたことが明らかになった。
